What this tool does
The NFL Play Explorer breaks down every single play for any QB, RB, or WR/TE this season. Filter by week, result, and down to isolate exactly the situations you care about — then click any play row for advanced details on that specific snap.
How to use it

Select a position — Choose QB, RB, or WR/TE from the tabs at the top, or search a player by name directly

Pick a player — Select any name from the list — their total play count and Average EPA load instantly below

Ckick any play row — Tap a row in the play log to expand advanced details for that individual play
Key metrics explained
Avg EPA
Average Expected Points Added per play — positive means above-average efficiency
D & D
Down and distance at the snap (e.g. 1 & 10, 3 & 5)
Field
Field position at the time of the play
Result
Outcome of the play — complete, incomplete, TD, rush, etc.
Successful Play?
Whether the play was considered a success based on Expected Points Added
Score Diff
The score differential at the time of the play — positive means the player's team was leading
Gap (RBs)
he run gap or blocking lane targeted on rushing plays. Identifies where in the offensive line the ball carrier attacked
